The Essence of the Role

This is a great opportunity for a senior software lead to take that next step into Management to run an already established and productive software engineering team.  As the UK Tech Lead Manager you will be expected to lead and manage the team who are primarily responsible for the Sinch end to end Billing pipeline from design, implementation, and delivery across Product lines. 

Your main focus will be to work closely with Product Managers responsible for the Sinch Roadmap and to plan and communicate the engineering delivery plans.  Work closely with the team to ensure the business understands the up to date engineering delivery pipeline, whilst supporting the team with code reviews and driving the Agile process from the standups, refinements to restrospectives.  

You will be leading a team of experienced software engineers mostly based in UK, however there will be some resources that work remotely. 

Travelling every quarter to Sinch Engineering sites, primarily Lund, Sweden and Kalmar and Stockholm, Sweden is part of the role.


The technologies

The team has expertise across a wide range of technologies such as transactional systems using Java, Spring, Redis and MySQL. Web applications using JavaScript, React, GraphQL. Automation of build, test and deployments done using Git, Vagrant, Docker, Maven, Puppet, Gitlab, Rundeck and Kubernetes, as well as proprietary systems. 


Who are you?

We are looking for a passionate leader to run a motivated and focused teams that take pride in delivery of quality software. This means you will get to use a combination of strong people skills and technical skills. You have a solid understanding of current best practices in software engineering field and a self-experienced background in software development.

Key competences include strong people skills, organization skills, attention to detail, ability to drive multiple tasks and ability to analyze and present complex matters in a clear manner and to build trust with internal stakeholders.

A suitable background is an Exam in Software Engineering, Maths, Computer Science or equivalent with at least 4 years’ experience from leading roles in successful software engineering organizations and projects. In total we believe you have around 10 years experience in working within the Software development lifecycle.
